If you wanna look super fly these last few weeks of summer you need a matching set. Especially this time of the year when we are all rushing to get all our last minute beach days, BBQ’s, Governors Island picnics, and outdoor movies in Bryant Park in. The summer seems to be flying and the majority of us only have a few weekends left! The faster we can grab an outfit and go the better! Matching sets absolutely are the easiest way to go, especially if you want to be on trend.
From plain cotton to bright vibrant patterns you can find any matching set you’re looking for. The best part is? You can totally get away with wearing them all in New York City nightlife. Here I’ll show you some of my faves and tell you how to style them from day to night with the BEST accessories.
First up is the linen short set.
What is better than a linen set in New York City? Maybe just a drink in your hand while wearing one? This is a classic that came back in full swing. Nothing screams summer more than linen. This summer we are all about the bright vibrant colors, so if you’re going to wear one I would definitely opt for a bright orange, purple or teal color.
For the day look I’d tuck the button up halfway in the front and wear some Birkenstocks. Then, pair it with a minimalist turn lock straw bag, matching hat (of course), fun rhinestone geometric earrings and the darkest sunnies you own. This would be the perfect look for a day in Central Park.
Let’s switch it up for a New Yawk City night look. Now let’s get creative here. The classic linen button up can be cropped, tied, and tucked. Let’s opt for the tie look since, in my opinion, it is the most flattering with a button up. Tie that bad boy up, keep those shorts high waisted, and throw on ya gold layered chains. Paired with braided heeled sandals, a braided faux leather handbag, and of course some mega gold hoops. Look out Lower East Side nightlife we are on our way!
Next up is one of my favorites, the bold pattern!!!
This is so fun because there are so many to choose from! I love a two piece with some spunk! My favorite pattern look is on wide leg pants. They are so flattering and so in this year. Perfect for those cool city days that turn into long city nights.
Spending the day in Chelsea? You 100% need bomb bright colored wide leg pants to stomp around the market in. Add a matching tied scarf top and you’re screaming “summer don’t leave!”. I love a slicked back low bun with this look. Obviously you need to wear some drop pearl earrings, a matching pearl choker and a woven cross body. Shoes? Let’s go for a classic square toed sandal. I’m ready!…Did someone say we we’re going to Los Tacos?
Honestly not much to change for the night look except for snagging an Uber to the Meatpacking District and maybe a dressier bag. Personally, I’d opt for something solid so it doesn’t get lost in the pattern sauce.
Last but certainly not least the cropped top and skirt set.
You can do a solid ripped set, floral pattern, or even something fun with a puff sleeve. I love how many there are to choose from! Don’t even get me started on all the skirt options. There is seriously a style for everyone!
Spending the day at the Highline means one million IG photos, and a lot of walking and this outfit. Your cute skirt and cropped top pair perfectly with white low sneakers for the cutest daytime look. To get even more trendy lets add some mesh socks. I absolutely love them with low sneakers. Grab your round ray bans, favorite backpack and let your hair down girl, we are strolling to the end of the Highline!
For a nighttime look, let’s ditch the sneaker and add some strappy tie up sandals. TAO Downtown nightclub is screaming your name. Now I know the school girl look in the day and club wear at night sounds weird but hear me out. Adding the perfect accessories can transform any outfit. Especially with the right shoes. Throw on some croissant gold earrings and some layered gold chains and you’ll be…well, golden! Now hurry up! Throw your backpack and grab your cloud clutch, the lines are getting long!
The summer days are long but they are coming to an end! Make sure you make the most of the sunshine we have left by making it easy and opting for a matching set. These three are my favorite but there are so many to choose from! Try a style that screams YOU and let us know about it!
