Everybody buckle up! Santa is coming to town!

Literally. Like 30,000 Santas.

Santa in NYC

On December 11th, New York City will turn into the North Pole with the most Santas anyone has ever seen with Santacon 2021. Asking yourself what is Santacon? Oh I am so happy you asked! Let’s start from the beginning, shall we?

Santacon originally started in good ole San Fran. This event was created to actually mock American holiday traditions and it turned into something so much more than that. This event is now held in over 40 different countries.

That’s some die hard Christmas mockery spirit, if you ask me!. Or you can just call it impressive.

That’s not even the best part. NYC Santacon is one of 300,000 similar events, and this organization has raised over $550,000 for local charities! They have donated to, City Harvest, The Ali Forney Center,The Secret Sandy Claus Project, The Food Bank for New York City, Dance Parade and Materials for the Arts, just to name a few.

What started out in 1994 as something to point out the ridiculous consumer based holiday tradition has turned into something that truly makes a difference. Over 25 years of a growing tradition has done the Big Apple some good.

Not only does this event bring in charity money, it also supports local bars and restaurants. The day is packed with a full schedule of bars and restaurants that participate in the cause. They even have the whole thing mapped out.

Speaking of maps, let’s get to the fun part. This Christmas spectacular starts on Broadway at 40th street. Get your rest because this kicks off at 10am and lasts until 8pm.

The day is perfectly mapped out for you so you can follow along effortlessly (or drunkenly) from bar, to club, to rooftop bar, to club all while dressed as Santa, a deer or an elf.

It’s a day filled with beverages and imagination. The map is broken up into sections and types of places. The breakdown consists of large clubs & venues, Midtown East bars, East Village Bars, and Midtown West Bars. You are sure to find a place that you love. You can stick to the schedule or hop around as you like. They even have a tweet alert to let you know when it’s time to move onto the next spot.

Along with the map there’s a strict Santa code to follow. You can check out the full list on their website (www.santacon.nyc) but for now we will stick with what they call the 6 F’s of Santacon.

  1. Don’t F*ck with kids
  2. Don’t F*ck with Cops
  3. Don’t F*ck with Bar Staff
  4. Don’t F*ck with NYC
  5. Don’t F*ck with NYC Vax requirements
  6. Don’t F*ck with Santas’ Charity Mission

As much as they promote fun, this organization has so much love and respect for our beloved city. If you are interested in attending it is not too late! Grab your Santa gear, make a $13 donation and get in on the fun! You can check all the details out right on their website santacon.nyc .

If you go let us know! We love hearing from you guys and knowing your experiences!

Happy Santacon New Yorkers!
