Hey there!

My name is Michele! I am the most laid back, Long Island, Italian princess you’ll ever meet. I am a lover of nature, wine, dogs, clothes, shoes, clothes, bags and more clothes. I was pretty much put on this earth to talk about fashion. Growing up so close to the greatest city in the world is a true blessing. We have everything at our fingertips. I am so grateful I’ve taken full advantage of everything New York has to offer. This city is what ignited my spark of creativity, and fledged it into a full on fire.

New York City for me was a dream world growing up. My family never really went to the city when I was a kid. Maybe once to see the Rockettes during Christmas? I was so young I honestly don’t even remember. But, my father was a New York City cop. Once he was done doing three overnights in the city at the end of the week, he didn’t want to go back for anything. Plus I am one of four kids, super close in age so I’m guessing my parents didn’t consider lugging four crazy children into the city, a good time. Maybe that’s why I became so obsessed with Manhattan. I wanted to know what it was, if all the things I had heard were true. I wondered, is it really a city that never sleeps?

When I got older, my uncle took my sister and I a few times to the Thanksgiving Parade and looking back now I think that’s when I fell in love. The concrete jungle was a place where anything was possible. TO THIS DAY, literally every time I go into Manhattan as I walk up the steps from Penn Station to 7th Avenue I spread my arms out and scream “Concrete jungle where dreams are made of, there’s nothing you can’t do!” and no one even turns their head. The energy of New York smacks you in the face, and I am obsessed with the inspiration, opportunities, and the fact that no one judges you for who you are.

I went to Berkeley College for like… a year? Maybe a little over a year. Yes, I am a college drop out and no, not Berkeley University, Berkeley College. I took Fashion Merchandising and Marketing. I absolutely loved it. My first few months I was convinced I would become a wealthy fashion editor or buyer and live happily in Manhattan (Sex and the City style). Then reality hit. I just couldn’t swing it. Tuition was high and I was super burnt out from working full-time to pay to go to school full time. Looking back, I kind of kick myself for not finishing the program, but on the whole, I have no regrets. You can’t change your past, only your future, so I always look forward and do better. That time in my life taught me so much, and inspired me to never ever give up no matter how hard the task in front of me might seem.

When I was in school, my classes were Monday through Thursday, early mornings and late nights. It felt like I lived in the city. I made so many new friends from all over the world and that really opened my eyes to the exciting diversity of my city. I really got to know New York. That single year changed my life. Reading books in Bryant Park, going to the museums, watching people paint art right on the street, vistinting high end shops, the opportunities for growth and learning were endless. It was absolutely mesmerizing. People dream to live, perform, learn, and grow in New York City, and I live next door.  New York is literally every type of person you can think of all living amongst each other. From the beaches of Long Island, to the bustling city, to the mountains in the upstate, I love New York to its core and can’t wait to share all my fashion finds and experiences with you guys!

Finally here we are!!! I am still a fashioned obsessed dreamer that found her way into the fashion world on my own terms. Instead of working for a magazine, my cousins and I created our own. I am so excited to share our unfiltered, authentic take on the place we call home.

Welcome to the Tawk of New Yawk

All out of love,

Michele
