Our Review is In: Gatsby's Landing

Gatsby's Landing - Times Square

It's that time again. You've grabbed tickets for your next Broadway show with your friends, family, significant other, whoever. You're ready to venture into that layer of Hell that is Times Square, but first, plans must be made. The most difficult of all: "where the f- do we want to eat?!".Don't worry, we're here to help! You're going to grab your phone and make a reservation at Gatsby's Landing.Gatsby's Landing is a New American restaurant located at 120 W. 44th Street in New York City. It's right in the heart of Times Square, so it is a very convenient spot for when you're doing all of the touristy things. One huge perk about this place, it doesn't feel like it is filled with tourists when you go. It is relatively quiet for being located in such a gawker's hot spot.

What We Loved:

The atmosphere: We walked into Gatsby's Landing and I immediately loved the aesthetic. There is a rich-nautical vibe full of blues and golds hues that surround diners. The staff: From the host, to our waiter, to the manager, everyone who we spoke to or met throughout our visit was beyond pleasant! Our waiter was honest and offered wonderful suggestions for us to try.The drinks: When I tell you I actually had to have the waiter choose my drink, I mean it. Everything sounded so delish that I just couldn't decide. He nudged me towards the Raspberry Old Sport. He made a solid choice. This fruity, refreshing rum drink was just what I wanted. It was sweet, but not too much so and full of flavor, not at all watered down. It was an added bonus that it was called an Old Sport -- that just brought in the Gatsby theme too perfectly! The food: Perfection. Actual perfection. From the baby roasted beets salad to the crab arancini, everything was delicious. The chef really knows which flavors and textures belong together to make for a fancy and decadent bite. For dinner, I recommend getting the pork chop. It was served over mashed potatoes and covered in a fennel orange slaw that complimented the dish exquisitely.

What We Didn't:

I personally cannot think of a thing. It was a perfect experience!

Perfect For:

Gatsby's Landing is stellar for a night out with your friends and absolutely perfect for a meal before your Times Square adventures!

Would We Recommend It:

Without a second thought! Coming by a non-kitschy restaurant such as Gatsby's in Times Square is such a rarity, we can't recommend stopping in enough!

Score: 10/10

A whim is really all of the reason that Nina needs in order to add a new piece of ink to her body art collection. Either that, or a cookie of some sort as consolation. Cookies are her favorite. Living in “a very Greek part” of Astoria allows her to be minutes from the bustle of Manhattan, while also spending a ton of time in one of the most diverse places on the planet – the borough of Queens. No matter where in the city that she is, she’s always on the hunt for the next great dessert, the margarita that packs the strongest punch, and the most impressive charcuterie platters. Matters of the earth are close to Nina’s heart, and she’s not afraid to whip out her collection of eco-friendly, stainless steel, utensils and straws.
